Tribal leaders hear all about Tribal problems.
- Isn't it time they start hearing about resources, too?
In the first half of FY2010 there were over 425 grants published inviting Tribal participation. Basic grant awareness, even for a fast reader with a state of the art computer, would have taken 60 man hours plus! Sure, your leadership team is being kept aware of Tribal problems, but are they as aware of the resources that can be applied to those problems?
Grant Alerts US routinely accesses the common sources of grants and abstracts those that invite Native American participation. These abstracts are used to create meaningful, easily referenced, executive summaries which are published as a subscription email. In this way, competitive grants are now being identified specifically for Tribal Leader's review.
Grant Alerts US Simplifies Grant Awareness!
By subscribing to the Grant Alerts US eNewsletter, Tribal leaders can now, in seconds each day, stay abreast of the magnitude of grants as they open; matching millions of dollars in resources with tribal needs in real time.
In addition to this pragmatic purpose, we believe that after witnessing this parade of opportunities, recipient's become more hopeful; perhaps even to the point of triggering that visionary thinking so vital to project creation.
So, who needs this Grant Awareness?
Elected leaders: Each Council member or candidate should be receiving this information. They need to be educated as to which grants are available as well as which are not in order to keep their (and the tribes) expectations realistic.
Administrative leaders: The Tribal Admin Officer, the Financial Officer and each Department Head all need a constant awareness of the philanthropic trends as well as what is currently open. OPM (Other Peoples Money) is the sweetest money a Tribe can spend!
Functional leaders: Environmental Offices, Economic Development Offices, Tribal Designated Housing Authorities each have their own routine sources but most never see the ancillary grants that pop up now and again.
Grant Writers: Oh, all right, you caught us! You know exactly where this information is coming from! Well, most of it anyway. We are not going to impress you with our breadth of knowledge. After all, you have the same sources. What we hope will impress you is our timeliness and completeness. We know you are out there checking our every publication. (Thanks, by the way!) There are two ways we think we can help you. First, we provide needed redundancy. Should you decide to take a day off, that one grant you were waiting for is less likely to get by. Secondly, we can be your hand out. The next time somebody comes in and says "There ought to be a Grant available to fund that!" set her up with a subscription. Let her find it for you! We publish this information as it becomes available so that you don't have to.
Grant Awareness no longer need be anyone's complete job description, but it can be an active part of every leaders arsenal.
